Moving in Bearsted: Access and Property
Bearsted sits just east of Maidstone, and it is not a village you move through on autopilot. The character of the place changes street by street, and each type of property brings its own access job.
Around Bearsted Green, the roads are narrow, the area is a conservation zone, and roadside space is tight, especially at weekends and around the cricket. A full-size pantechnicon often cannot sit directly outside a cottage on or near the green, so we plan the parking position at survey stage and, where needed, run a smaller shuttle vehicle between the property and the main van rather than discovering the problem on the day.
The period cottages near the green bring narrow doorways, tight winding staircases and low beams. These are handled by hand, item by item, with protection on both the furniture and the property, and some larger pieces need dismantling to get them out cleanly.
The larger detached homes on the roads toward Thurnham, Hollingbourne and the North Downs usually have driveway access and room for the van, but longer carry distances and gravel or sloped drives are common, which we factor into crew size. The newer builds toward Weavering are more straightforward, though estate roads and permit parking sometimes need checking first.
We confirm all of this in the survey, so the vehicle, crew and parking plan are settled before moving day rather than improvised on it.

Yes. Our crews cover the whole Bearsted area, including cottages directly on and around Bearsted Green. Those roads are narrow and sit in a conservation area with limited roadside space, so we confirm the parking position and access plan at survey stage rather than leaving it to moving day.
