Our Staplehurst Removals Service

House Removals

Across Staplehurst, from period cottages near the station and the High Street to larger detached homes and farmhouses out in the surrounding Weald. Our crew packs, protects, loads and delivers, room by room.

Packing Services

As a full, partial or fragile-only service, with materials supplied and everything labelled by room, usually the day before your move. This matters more in Staplehurst’s period and listed properties, where fragile items and awkward access carry more risk.

Why Choose Stranks for Removals in Staplehurst

Four generations of the Strank family have moved Kent households since 1941, and the business is still family run today. The same trained team handles your move from survey to delivery, with no job handed to a subcontractor on the day. Staplehurst is around 16 miles from our Ashford depot, so this is regular, familiar work for our crews, and the substantial homes the village is known for are well within our capacity.

On credentials: Stranks holds full British Association of Removers (BAR) membership, including the BAR Advanced Payment scheme, and is certified to BS EN 12522, the British Standard for furniture removal services for private individuals. BS EN 12522 audits process, training and vehicles, and few independent Kent removers carry it. We are also Checkatrade certified and a member of the Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman scheme, with a 9.7 out of 10 rating across 380 verified reviews.

We are based in Ashford, not Staplehurst. That is deliberately honest: you get a full-depot operation coming to you, not a one-van outfit.

Moving in Staplehurst: Access and Property

Staplehurst is a large Wealden village on the A229, and that main road shapes a lot of the moves here.

The A229 through the village carries fast, steady traffic, and stopping a large van on it to load is neither safe nor practical. For properties fronting the A229 we position the vehicle in a side road or driveway and plan the carry route in advance rather than blocking a busy road on the day.

The older High Street and the listed and period cottages around All Saints church bring narrow doorways, uneven floors and tight staircases. These are handled by hand with full protection, and larger items are dismantled where needed to get them out cleanly.

The rural farmhouses and detached homes out along the lanes toward Marden, Frittenden and Headcorn often sit at the end of long or narrow farm approaches that a full-size pantechnicon cannot manage. Where that is the case we confirm a turning point or run a smaller shuttle vehicle between the property and the main van.

We settle the vehicle, route, crew and parking plan at the survey, so the access is worked out before moving day rather than on it.

How a Move with Stranks Works

  • Free survey by video call or in person, assessing volume, access and any specialist items.
  • Written quote with clear, itemised pricing, confirmed before any commitment.
  • Packing day if booked, usually the day before your removal.
  • Moving day: the crew arrives at the agreed time, loads under protective blankets and webbing, and drives to your new address.
  • Delivery and placement, room by room, with furniture reassembled where dismantled.

Staplehurst and the Wider Weald

Staplehurst sits between Maidstone and the Wealden villages, and most moves here connect to the wider area. See our main Maidstone removals page for the town, and Headcorn removals for the village just east. We also cover the surrounding Weald villages including Marden, Frittenden, Cranbrook and Sissinghurst from the same depot. For the full list of areas, see our areas we cover page.

This is the third time over the years that we have used Stranks. David quoted, advised and liaised with us from the start to guide us through the process. This move itself was annoyingly prolonged due to a long key wait. We got the keys and access at 4pm in the end. At every stage of the move, Shane, Dan, Armond, John and then the other two (Joe? and another colleague) were professional, friendly and extremely hard working. They even kept their efforts up when they found that we had only gone and bought a town house! The boxes destined for 'bed 1' were like the hot potatoes that no-one wanted to end up with! Still, everything got moved to the right rooms without an issue. We wanted to review and pass on our thanks to those that made a long moving experience, so much more bearable. We would totally recommend Stranks to anyone in need of removal services.

I’d give 10 stars to the team that helped us relocate from Kent to Cornwall. They were competent, capable, professional, accommodating, friendly and very easy to work with. I hope not to have to make such a move again but I wouldn’t hesitate in using Stranks and highly recommend their services. They helped make our move a stress free experience and worth every penny we spent and more.

Long established family business, they listen to what you need and if at all possible oblige. Sensible rates and knowledgeable caring workers. Happy to advise on the best way to get your needs sorted even recommending local man and van companies if the job is really too small for them.

FAQs

Yes. We cover the village itself and the surrounding lanes toward Marden, Frittenden and Headcorn. For properties set back along narrow farm lanes we confirm the access route and a turning point at the survey, so the right vehicle turns up on the day.

The A229 is busy and stopping a large van on it to load is neither safe nor practical, so for properties fronting it we position the vehicle in a side road or driveway and plan the carry route in advance. We confirm all of this at the survey rather than on the morning.

Yes. Where a full-size van cannot get down a long or narrow farm approach, we run a smaller shuttle vehicle between the property and the main van, or confirm a turning point beforehand. We check the approach at the survey so the right vehicles are booked.

Yes. The older cottages around the High Street and All Saints church are a regular part of our work. Low doorways, uneven floors and winding staircases are handled by hand with full protection, and larger items are dismantled where needed to avoid damage to the piece or the property.

Every move is priced individually on the volume of belongings, the number of rooms, access at both addresses, and the distance. A village cottage and a large farmhouse are different jobs, so we do not publish fixed prices. Get a free quote and we will come back with clear, itemised pricing.

As early as you can, ideally four to six weeks, and longer for a larger rural property that also needs a full packing day. Summer and school-holiday dates fill fastest, and we are often booked up, so the sooner you are in touch the better. If your sale is still progressing, we can hold a provisional date.
