Our House Removals Service Across Kent

If your sale completes before your purchase is ready, Stranks storage is available at our 13,000 sq ft Ashford warehouse, holding up to 250 individual containers. We move your belongings directly from your old property into storage and deliver to your new address when you are ready. Storage from £13.80 per week including VAT.

Every house removal with Stranks starts with a free home visit, and the quote follows from it.

A free home survey. A surveyor visits your property at a time that suits you, walks through each room, notes the volume of belongings, checks access and parking at your address, and flags any specialist items such as pianos, large mirrors or loft and outbuilding contents. The visit is free and carries no obligation.

A written quote. After the survey you receive a clear, itemised written quote covering labour, vehicles, equipment and protective materials, with no hidden extras. Because it is based on what the surveyor actually saw, it is a figure you can rely on rather than a phone estimate.

On Moving Day

The crew arrives at the time confirmed in your booking, and every member is a directly employed Stranks remover trained to BS EN 12522. The crew lead runs through the loading plan with you before anything is moved, and fragile items travel in the protective materials that come as standard.

Larger Kent properties often bring specific access challenges: restricted kerbside parking in Canterbury’s historic lanes, narrow access in older Folkestone terraces, and long carries at rural Tenterden and Romney Marsh addresses. These are exactly what the survey stage is for, so they are planned in advance rather than discovered on the day. The vehicle then travels to your new address, where the crew unloads, reassembles furniture and places everything in the rooms you specify.

This move itself was annoyingly prolonged due to a long key wait. We got the keys and access at 4pm in the end. At every stage of the move, Shane, Dan, Armond, John and then the other two (Joe? and another colleague) were professional,  friendly and extremely hard working. They even kept their efforts up when they found that we had only gone and bought a town house! The boxes destined for 'bed 1' were like the hot potatoes that no-one wanted to end up with! Still, everything got moved to the right rooms without an issue.

As early as your moving date is confirmed. Demand is highest in summer, around school holidays and at month-end when completions cluster. Getting in touch at the point of exchange gives the most flexibility and allows time for the free survey. We cannot guarantee availability for very short-notice requests, so early contact is always worth it.

Do you carry out long-distance house removals from Kent?
